My 12 year old son found this bottle barely sticking out of the ground and he kicked it out, luckily he didn't break it. It says " Joe Evans" then the star, below star " Eau Claire, Wis." Has 10 sided bottom to it. And I found on the bottom a 601 stamp. It also says ROOT at very bottom. Any information on dating and value would be great to learn, my son would appreciate it.

Re: Antique bottle
around 1890-1900 . definetaly pre 1910 when everthing switched over to the crown top and a different shaped bottle. called a hutcheson style bottle this is listed as rare in the hutcheson project site. can't get a great feel on the values for the rare bottles of this style selling right now from wisc. but do see a 35 and a 75$ sale on similar bottles your bottle probaly will sell closeto this range. a locall bottle collector will know better . its really hard to get exact values on small town rare bottles that don't come up for sale that often. unless you collect locally and know the values.
