antique brass buttons with symbols

Appraisal complete
Description Will attach JPEG. Four brass buttons each embossed with a different unusual symbol, which I have been told are not military in nature. The symbols are as follows; Z/D a serpentine pattern a plant form with three leaves coming from a single central stem a circle sitting on a short stalk rising from an open bottomed rectangular shape, of which each side curves slightly wider at the base. Could represent a human head and shoulders.

History I found these buttons in a box owned by my grandmother. I don't know much more than that. Her father was a Mason, and I wondered if these have Masonic origin.
