Antique Brooch or Hairclip?

By sukageil69, 27 February, 2015
Description

This is a piece I recieved from my Grandmothers estate. This belonged to either my Grandmother (born in1922) or my Great Granmother (born in the 1890's), boh of who were born and raise in Chicago. I know nothing about this other than it is very unique. There are no stamps on the piece and it is very lightweight. I believe it is older because of the very bizarre looking clasp. The ends of the clasp are also very blunted so I am leaning more towards it being a hair piece? Any information would be helpful! Thanks.

Re: Antique Brooch or Hairclip?

I can't tell much from the pictures and without having an exact brand name, it is hard to tell a close estimated value but I agree that it is from the early 1900s and hairclips from the early 1900s tend to sell for $5 to $25 depending on the conition and they buyer
