Description
Hello-
I have a sideboard buffet, not sure of age or type of wood - ?mahagony; left side door has no shelving, 2 middle drawers with the top having a divided, padded section, right door has one shelf. Original brass drawer pulls. With the exception of the scratches on top, predominantly on the left -see pic, this piece is in very good working condition. The Landstrom Furniture tag is on the inside of the top drawer.
Please furnish with an estimate.
Thank you,
Mo
Re: Antique Buffet
This is a lot newer than it looks. It's a "federal Revival" style piece, most likely made during the 1920's. Federal Revival pieces are reproductions of the original American Federal items originally produced from 1780-1830. The Federal Revival style became popular after the first Centennial of the American Revolution in 1876. At that time interest and demand for original Colonial & Federal furnishings was so great it outstripped supply. They were a hot item during the 1980's, values have slumped for them since then, they sell in the $400.00- $700.00 range at auction.

Wow! Do you have the rest of the set? We have the same bufet server with china cabinet, table, 5 chairs and one captains chair also located on this set. We bought ours at an estate sale in 1986 in Chicago.
