Description

Hi, I recently came into possession of this chair. I tried some research online, and believe it may be a Stomps-Burkhart, but there are no markings or labels on the chair.

Obviously there is a condition issue on the seat (some sort of fabric stuck to it over time).

I was wondering if anyone could provide any additional information on the age, manufacturer/chair name, and possibly an approximate value?

Thanks in advance.

It dates from the turn of the 19th Century, similar chairs were made into the 1920's. They come under the "Colonial Revival" style category and were a mass produced item, the majority of what passes for cariving on these chairs was done by routing machines. Chairs like this were a hot item during the 1980's to 90's, but now sell for far lss than what they did, the trend for this type of furniture faded in the 1990's. We see comparable chairs now go at auction for less than $100.00.
