I found this beauty at garage sale.
Now wondering what is it's real value?

Looks to me like Art Deco.

Medium Metal parts are brass, black parts - ceramic, maybe porcelain.
Distinguishing marks Has just a sticker "UL", but thats not a manufacturer...
Condition Excellent
Size and dimensions of this item W22" H23", I removed the chain as the ceiling is too low.
Weight Approx. 6-7 lb
History I wish I knew :)

It's not an antique, or Art Deco. Based on the images I doubt this one predates the 1960's. Comparable lamps are still in production, at auction they go for about $150.00.

Could you post links of the same that are produced now? Just wondering about manufacturer, materials used etc.

Another question would be: how old an item must be to be called antique? I know vintage has to be 20 years or older. I'm assuming this is not only a question of age, correct?

100 years old is the benchmark to be an antique. Without a manufacturers mark or label it impossible to determine a maker for these more modern pieces, most like this were made in Europe, mainly Italy and imported.
