Antique Crystal Ball Prism

By jules751, 20 November, 2014
Description

I cannot find this prism anywhere online. The cut is & shape is diffferent than any normal crystal ball prisms & chandelier crystal ball prisms I've seen.

There are 6 rows on this crystal. The first row (near the top) is 4 sided and looks like a spear, rows 2, 3  & 4 are hexagonal. Row 5 is 5 sided and is pentagonal and row 6 the base is 4 sided and looks like a kite.

It is also not round, but more of a pear shaped, so the bottom part is very flat.

I looked for any brand and I didn't see one.

Measured from the top to the bottom laying the tape against the crystal its 2 1/4 in height. The circumference in the middle is 5 inches around. I'm guessing 40mm since that's about the size its closest to with my other crystals.

What I would like to know is the following:

What time period is it from?

Who made it?

What is the crystal cut/shape name?

The value of the crystal?

Any help would be great. Thanks!
