Description

My grandparents had this table with the ability to make a very long oval table using 10 12" leaves.  Not sure of the value- any ideas?  Only a few chairs left, had 24 at one time.  They had this buffet and china cabinet also, not sure if they go together.

All the pieces are in the Empire Revival Style, the style getting its name from the fact these pieces are designed to resemble American Empire styled pieces made during the first third of the 19th Century.
The original Empire style tended to make heavy use of mahogany and mahogany veneers, "C" and "S"
curves, heavy legs and carved paw or claw feet. The Revival pieces like yours were often constructed
of oak, finished in a honey brown we now generically refer to as "Golden Oak.
