Description

Has been in the family forever. My father (born 1913) got it from his grandfather who was a captain in the commercial navy and sailed the world.

The bottle is 4 1/2 inches high, and oval in shape -  max width:3 1/2 inches, min width: 2 1/4 inches.

It is fairly heavy for its size, the metal has a yellowish tint and is easy to scratch. There are no apparent marks or stamps.

There is a different dragon on each side and a third on top of the cap. The details like the scales of the dragons are very crisp and no area of the bottle is without some texture.

Is it even Chinese? Perhaps a 19th century tourist trinket or matbe something more interesting? And what would be the use for such an object?

Category China
