Antique Etching

By csmi33, 20 April, 2014
Description

There is a watermark in the paper looks like a a cluster of grapes or something inside a doubled lined circle with some writing in between the lines. The etching is 1 of 2 scenes. It measures 17" 1/2 x 13" 1/2 inches, I have searched the web for this watermark but nothing came up, My guess is that either its a private mark, Or there is just no database history of it, If you have any question or any info feel free to leave a  comment, Thanks

Etching Artist Rigaud

I suggest you get a hands on inspection for this one..This is why. I can find tons of prints, copys, and other types of this. But it's the Papermark that I can't find.. the price could be so much more if its from the 16/1700's  Good Luck..

"NOTE" I do not claim to be an expert.

Re: Etching Artist Rigaud

Hello how are you ? Thank you for your reply to the etching watermark. I guess I need to have someone take a close look at it. I have gotten different online appraisals opinions from different sites but none of them seem to be sure, One appraisal told me that it was proberly done in the late 1600s to about the 1700s
