antique fire extinguisher

Description

I have what I believe to be an aluminun 5 gallon fry fyr fyter. I think it is aluminum,  deffinatly not brass. There are no markings or identifying symbols. The top of this item has two conecting bolts/nuts that look like they may go to a hose. On the inside of the handle there is a stamped 24.

I bought this item in an estate sale. It was placed to many other antique fire extinguishers and firehouse memorbilia. I paid $18.00 for this item. I would like to find out more information about the maker, origin, and value of this piece.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
