Re: Antique Ladies Bulova Watch
These pieces looks circa 1922 - 1924 ..
Does it say inside the number of jewels ? Does the watch keep time and work ?
There are many pieces from this period that are sold for parts cheap. More information would help identify it. I am unable to read anything from inside the casing due to picture quality.
If you would be able to provide more information it may help me give you more information.
Kindest Regards ..

Thanks for the additional info Donna... I do not see jewels are present on the inside of the watch. Nor do I see any indications of gold or silver. The father of the Spidel company actually invented gold plating in the late 1800's germany. The band GEMEX may have been a wholesale supply name that was supplied to Boliva as formentioned by Spiedel.
This watch was not a high end piece but I date it circa 1922 - 1924.
The sad thing is that the winder has been lost. The interworkings of the watch need a good cleaning. If this is a piece you intend to keep I would encourage you to have it serviced and repaired. Not everyone has a watch from this Art Deco period of time (no pun intended : ) 1920's - 1930's As I am not aware of the cost to repair, a local watch shop would be able to source a fitting winder and quote you on the repair estimate. I would not recommend spending more the $20 - $25 in doing so.
In its current state I would estimate it at $10 - $20 US for a parts watch.
Even once fixed it may only be worth $50 - $60 US to the right person. It doesn't state jewels (pertaining to watch movement) nor are there any stones / diamonds or signs of gold or silver.
Thanks for allowing me to look into this wonderful piece of time in history Donna ...
Kindest Regards ..
