Antique Mahogany Side Table with two shelves and one drawer. Drawer is unique in that it has a front and back half. Initially when you open the drawer you see a section that is lined in a white, shiny, plastic type material. However, if you open further, there is a second half that is not lined. The front lined portion also has two oval metal pieces that rotate freely (look like mini letter openers) that I am not sure what they were for. The spindle legs appear to have been hand carved and the table has no markings. The drawers have excellent dove tailing and the back of the drawers corners are slightly curved. It appears to be a very high quality piece.
Table measures approximately 27.5" long x 12" wide x 26.5' tall.
I would like to know what era it is, what the purpose of the lined drawer was, and what the value may be.
Thank you very much!
