Description
This is a late 19th or early 20th century automaton carved from wood. I inherited it from my father who remembered it from his early childhood home (my father was born in 1907).
It is a little over 13" high, including the base. It contains some sort of music box. Originally when wound up the head would turn from side to side and the minstrel would whistle a tune. I don't know if that still works because I have never had the key.
It is in fairly good condition although there is some damage to one of the fingers.
