Description
Figurine measures 6.5 in x 8.5 in x 24 in. I inherited it from my parents, who purchased it from an art/antique dealer sometime between 1970-1980. Unfortunately, I do not know any more specific details with regards to its providence, purchase, or age.
There is a label in Chinese on the base of the figurine, but I noticed no other notable labels or lettering.
Re: Antique Oriental Ceramic/Porcelain Figurine
It's a figure of a Chinese "Immortal" from Chinese folklore. While not mass produced in the modern sense of the term, they were made in large numbers for the export market and are still in production. Most we see today postdate 1900, they rarely sell for less than $300.00 at auction.
