Antique Original Limoges Hand Painters Wheel

By shammond78, 14 September, 2009
Description

This appears to be a original painters wheel used by the Limoges company. It has an iron base which has "Limoges" in the iron in large letters, and a wooden arm rest and wooden dish rest on the the wheel. It is in original condition, mint. It does have signs of its intended use, such as smudges of paint on the wood. For many years we have searched for something like this to find out what it is worth, but have never found anything on this, which leads me to believe that it is extremely rare. We have had an ametuer appraiser look at it and tell us he believes that it is worth between 10-15K, but that was years ago. We would like to sell this item, but have no way of knowing what it is truly worth. It is currently listed on ebay for $6500, buy it now, and a starting bid of $5000. I am hoping you can help me find the true value of this piece. Thank you.

Re: Antique Original Limoges Hand Painters Wheel

While an interesting item, can you really expect to sell it for that price? Have you seen any other items similar sell at that price?
