antique ring

Sterling silver antique ring with large light pink stone. It was my mother's who has had it since I can remember. I was born in 1976 and she had it before I was born. I dont know where she got it or how or by whom. It could have possibly been passed down to her from her mother or bought as a gift. I wish I knew. It has a symbol on the inside of the band which I have included a pic of. I don't know much about jewelry but I'm guessing it is the designers symbol. It is a bit worn so the symbol on one side is hard to make out. Also I haven't cleaned it yet. Sorry. I'm just really curious about maybe the time period it wad made and by who. Thank you.
