Description

Hello! I recently purchased a roll top desk. I have looked over the entire desk but was unable to find much information. My first find was this: http://www.stickleyera.info/AmericanRetailers_files/image007.jpg It's on the underside of the center drawer. After researching Edwards Furniture Co for a bit, I found they were located in downtown Portland Oregon. I combed the local newspapers for a few hours and found that this style desk wasn't sold until around 1909.

This is a picture of my desk: http://instagram.com/p/PcZ9PZETdF/?fb_source=og_big_photo_nf_tail_url&fb_action_ids=10100418941534798&fb_action_types=instapp%3Atake&fb_ref=ogexp&action_object_map={%2210100418941534798%22%3A364982783578990}&action_type_map={%2210100418941534798%22%3A%22instapp%3Atake%22}&action_ref_map={%2210100418941534798%22%3A%22ogexp%22}

I did notice that the underside of one drawer says "sample" with a few numbers.

Also, each drawer is numbered on the underside, which correspondes to the number written on the inside of each drawers cubby.

Unfortunately I have no other information about this piece. Let me know if I can find anything else to help aid in identifying it!

Thank you!

What information were you hoping to find? Desks like this were generic items. They were mass produced, most furniture companies had a line of them. Let me know what type of information you are hopping to find and I'll see what i can find for you.
