Antique Slag Glass Lamp

By jaqueeba, 13 September, 2012
Description

The lamp has six panels of milky, caramel and white stained glass. The body of the lamp resembles a womans figure, the lamp weighs approximately (I'm estimating) 20lbs. The lamp is signed, although I am unsure of the maker, the symbol is found under the (I'm assuming) wrought iron cap, used to hold the the shade in place. The symbol can also be found on the underside of the base of the lamp. The lamp symbol has 3 interlocking C's and the number 5, the image resembles- cCco . The lamp shows signs of age, the iron separator that holds one of the panels, has split at the top of the shade, but the stained glass panel still fits securely in the shade(also pictured), also the metal is exposed in some places along the shade (pictured),  I hope someone can help me find out the value and maker of this beautiful lamp.

Re: Antique Slag Glass Lamp

Taken from somones comments regarding a similar lamp on ebay

"There is a lot of confusion about the mark "C C Co." that appears on this lamp and others. I researched it and found that this was a distributor mark. They distributed Miller, B & H, and other manufacturers lamps for a short time"

It is very likely this is a B&H Lamp. Similar works, mind you in mint condition, sell for $300-500. This one, considering the damage, is a curveball. It could go for practically nothing or close to half of what a nice example goes for, you never know.

Re: Antique Slag Glass Lamp

Thanks so much for the reply, the lamp belonged to my Aunt who recently passed away, I was wondering if it was worth repairing or keeping to pass down to my daughter. It really is a very beautiful lamp.

Best,

Jay
