Description

I found this piece next to a dumpster. I thought it was too beautiful to be smashed to pieces in the next garbage pick up. I'm not concerned about value, but would love if someone could help me identify when and where this came from. I plan on restoring it, and would love to know the history. I couldn't find any identifying markings. All nail construction, no screws. I don't know what else to put in here, I'm no expert and wouldn't even know where to start. If you need to see it from a different angle, or need a more specific picture, just let me know.

It's in the Empirival style, which was popular from about 1890- 1914. The style copies the original American Empire style made 1815-35. Not much demand for pieces in this style now, it last peaked in the 1980's. To the right person though you might get $150.00 for it.

Thanks for the info. It's nice to know at least a little about it. I've already started repairs and can't wait to bring it back to its former glory!
