AI Appraisal
Description
This 100 year old lamp lamp (as seen in the photos) is basically in very good condition. A few (five) pieces of glass do have minor hairline cracks, but none are loose or separated. (One of the photos shows the worst of these.) No identifying marks are present, and the maker is unknown.
The lamp has just been rewired, with new socket, and adapted for mounting on a standard ceiling electrical box. The exposed metal at the ceiling is solid brass; the chain is brass plated steel. The patina from the years has been left undisturbed.
The chain is 30" long, which places the bottom of the shade at 54" from the ceiling. (It could be shortened as desired by removing links.)
