Description

Mahogany cabinet with inlaid front. Gold plaque on back reads Tobey Furniture.  Upper cabinet is open with a hole drilled near the bottom of the back - believe this was a radio cabinet.  Lower section is open inside for storage.

This was totally black orange peel varnish when we got it in 1963 - had it restored over the next year.

Category American Furniture
Medium Mahogany wood with various wood inlaid in front
Distinguishing marks Tobey Furniture
Condition Good
Size and dimensions of this item 46" x 36" x 14"
Date Period Late 1800's
History We found this in a liquidator's warehouse back in 1963. We could not tell that it had the inlay in the front, it was covered in black orange peeled varnish. Did not discover the inlay until we had the cabinet stripped. Since it was so old when we got it in 1963, we feel this is probably well over 100 years old. The plaque on the back says Tobey furniture. We would like to know how much this is worth.

This cabinet is in very good condition.  The top has a bit of sunburn near one corner at the back,  one of the  hinges for the top door is a little wobbly, we've enjoyed using this as a bar. This has been part of our family for the past 51 years.

We would appreciate knowing the value of this cabinet, if you can provide  this info, we sure would  enjoy knowing.
