Antique vase with a face

Description

I know very little about this but My friend has these antique vases he believes were brought back from Germany 50+ years ago.  Ive searched with no luck.  I believe the stamp says 539 BCN but i may be wrong. He said hes had it looked at by appraisals in the past and cant find any info on them.
