Antique Victorian Cottage 5 Piece Painted Bedroom Set

Antique Victorian 5-piece solid wood furniture set circa 1850-70. Includes:

• Full/Double Bed
• Nightstand
• Washstand with cupboard doors and internal shelf
• Dresser
• Mirror that sits on top of dresser with candlestands above lifttop accessory boxes

This set has been in our family since it was made. Original grain is accented with a hand painted cherry motif.

Victorian cottage furniture was made between 1850 and 1880. Cottage furniture, also known as country furniture, was often painted and decorated with hand-painted details. This set is painted with cherries and blossoms.

Headboard and footboard feature big arched crest with detailed carvings. Original matching side rails. Supporting bed slats/planks are not original.

The bed is 79” long x 55 1/2” wide. Headboard=70” high. Footboard=36 1/2” high. A full/double mattress size is included (excellent shape – barely used). 

Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints. Original knobs are attached with wooden screws. The dresser or chest has a detachable (it sits on top of the dresser) swivel mirror and side jewelry/storage boxes.
