58" in length, and made of solid oak I believe. Very heavy. Inscribed are Latin words on the face of the trunk. The double headed bird and latin inscriptions and style including internal compartment suggest this is of Spanish origin and Spanish colonial time.
Functional for secured storage and compartment for valuables. Original metal locking mechanism is present and in working condition -- includes original skeleton key. Looking for approx. value and/or verified origin.
