AI Appraisal
Description
Appears to be a round cottage with a mushroom shape to it. There is a person on the porch that appears to be a female (looks like it has lipstick and a dress on). In the roof is a large indentation leading me to believe the function of this piece is as a planter of some sort. The photographs show more details than I could write. The hallmark/maker's mark is on the bottom rim on the back of the piece and is "APSIT BROS. OF CALF. (C) '74". I believe this piece is made of ceramic, but it could be plaster (I can scrape the bottom with my fingernail and get powder on my finger, but the painted parts are smooth and hard)
I have found quite a bit of information on the Apsit Brothers and they appear to have mostly made lamps, and most of their pieces were unpainted so this piece was likely painted by hand by someone other than the Apsit Brothers. Other than that I have been unable to find any other pieces like this one anywhere on the internet so I don't even know where to start at to figure out the value.
