your ginger jar is Chinese, it is  decorated with cranes, a symbol for long life.  The mark, I beleive,  claims it was made in the Kangxi Period  1654-1722, however this is seen on 20th Century porcelain, decorated in Hong Kong.  You would have to have an expert look at the piece to determine the actual date.  I would never beleive any Chinese mark, without authentication.
