Asian Handcarved Emperor Empress Statues

The statues measure 22" without base with base 24" bottoms are signed and the back of each statue has the word PAT. I cannot tell what material these are or there worth. They weigh between 10-11 lb each.I would like to know what era? How much they are worth and what the PAT. means (artist or something else) I attempted the hot pin test on a lower inconspicuous place on the female statue it merely went in barely leaving a small white area no smoke, it would not go into the statue very deeply. So I am unsure of the material.

These have intriquite carvings on each. The emperor is holding a tendril of hair and his staff with a dragon face on it as well as the top resembling a cobra?

The Emperors robe is carved with a dragon with five claws while the Empress has what appears to be a garden and lotus blossom across her back. Below the lotus is a Phoneix which also appears elsewhere on her robe. I believe these are representations of the Ming Dynasty Period but not sure. On the front of the Emporer is a circle or roundel.
