Description This table is 22 inces tall, the top is 12x16 inches.  There are no nails in its construction, except to afix glass holder borders on top.  Three sides are deeply carved up to over .25 inch.  The top is handpainted.  The three women appear in relief (term? raised)amd it appears to be ivory or jade, the woman on the left's bottom of tunic is luminescent like the inside of an oyster shell.  The rocks in front of the abode are also in relief.  it does not bear any markings I can find to indicate signing.
This was passed from my grandmothers estate, from her mother Marianne Wendt (m. Henry Wendt of Buffalo Forge Co.).  I know they were fond of purchasing from Gumps of San Francisco anytime they passed through town.  The glass has since broken.  The black seems to be a stain rather than paint.
