Description
I'm looking for some information and a suggested price on a wood file cabinet made by Automatic File & Index Co in Green Bay, WI.
I was told it originally was used in a railroad depot in Michigan, but I have no way of verifying that information.
It stands about 5 1/2' tall and there are four sections, each sitting on top of one another, as well as the top with two pull out shelves. It has obvious wear but the hardware is intact and none is missing.
Any ideas on a good selling price?
Sorry about the photos ~ for some reason they won't rotate!
Re: Automatic File & Index Company wooden file drawers
Most of the stacking units date from the first quarter of the 20th century. They were a hot item during the late 1980's until the mid 1990's, but demand for them has declined a great deal since then. The ones with the smaller drawers like one would find for library cards and the book cases with glass doors still sell well though. This might go for about $200.00 at auction.
