Baumritter Hutch Info Anybody????

By Kkay, 4 April, 2012
Description

Hutch does have Baumritter Tag on one of the drawers but in looking at this piece I did notice that the top cabinet (the actually cabinet door & not the yellow plastic)  that have the yellow circle plastic cabinet fronts look uneven in the way they are cut. So I was wondering if Baumritter would put out something like this or is the top part of the hutch from another peice of furniture or homemade by the previous owner & was married to the Baumritter bottom? I could not find any Baumritter Hutch that looked like this, even without the paint. I have another posting of a Dry Sink that came in the same lot as this and it appears that the hardware had been changed on both to match each other & I would guess that the hardware was changed in the late 60's, from the other items I acquired. What year did Baumritter put metal like stickers on furniture and when did they change to stamping furniture instead? If you know anything about this item or could possibly tell me what era you think it's from? Also if you think it's from 2 different peices? What kind of wood you think it might be that is so heavy & of course an idea of what it would be worth. Thank you so much to anyone that could help me out.
