Re: Bears and man

This is beautiful. :)

I found these at auction...I don't know if they'll show up or not.

I couldn't get the link on here.

I think you should contact Christie's Auction house.

Lot 513B: Felix O.C. Darley, American, 1822-1888, ink wash on paper, "The Barrel Maker", purchased at Christie's, 1994, 11 x 8 1/2", signed lower left, FOC Darley, fecit

Re: Bears and man

This isn't a painting and without seeing it up close, it's hard to say if it's a print or pencil drawing etc. What is the number on it? It could be the year or the number contained--if a print--in the number of prints put out.  Can you upload a pic with a very tight and clear shot of the number area? You should also ask Christies about it as some other poster said and they have a website where you can send in your query along with a photo(s) and get a response back within a few days. Don't tell them you don't want to sell it or they won't bother responding. As long as you haven't signed a contract to put this up for auction with them, there's nothing to be concerned about. Make sure you send them a close-up shot of the numbered area too. Good luck.
