Re: Beautiful Dishes
These are "Carnival Glass", first made in the early 1900's but which has been extensively reproduced since the 1970's, you need to have they physically examined to determine the vintage.

Re: Beautiful Dishes
I have a similar set (one large and six small dishes)which I purchased recently.
I have also not yet been able to determine whether they are vintage glass or more recent reproductions...
If I do find anything, I will head back and share the information with you.
Regards
Re: Beautiful Dishes
I am no expert, and have only been collecting for a few months now...
I have done some searching, and it would appear that what we have corresponds with the "Smooth Rays" pattern popular around 1915. The colour certainly looks like amber/ marigold.
Dugan, Imperial and Northwood all produced similar patterns.
I lean toward the Northwood one, which can be seen here

Scroll down to the "Berry dish"
My set has a rather strange flower pattern on the ouitside, which I have still not been able to identify...
Hope this helps?? Maybe someone else out there can contribute further?

Re: Beautiful Dishes
Good evening MSClay,
I promissed to get back to you if I found anything about your bowls.
If they are the same as mine (which is difficult to be sure from the photo you have provided), then they were made in the 1940's by Jeanette Glass.
Strictly speaking, this makes them Depression Glass, not Carnival Glass, but because they were iridised, they do find their way into Carnival collections.
The pattern, is Iris & Herringbone. You can compare a very nice picture at http://www.carnivalheaven.com/carnivalglass105/id29.htm#ih_cordial_and_bowl
Unfortunately they do not appear to have too much value. See this site, for a comment on the value of other items with the same pattern.

Hope that helps!!
