Description

two pieces of a bedroom set, one is a long dresser with a marble top, ornamentation appears to be hand carved and may have had gold leaf at one time, but that is now worn away. The drawers have brass teardrop shaped pulls, as well as round wooden pulls on the smaller drawers. There is triangular shaped dovetailing inside the drawers.

The armoire piece is similar in most ways, except it has a wood veneer inlay on top instead of marble, and no wooden knobs. There is a keyhole in the armoire doors, but no key.

There are no identifying marks on the pieces.

History I purchased both pieces together as they are part of a set that also had a nightstand, which I did not purchase. I bought them in 1976 at a now defunct Long Island NY antique shop, who sold them as country french pieces. I have no information about the date and maker.
