Description

Hi all

Bought this tankard yesterday, I know that it was made by James Dixon and Sons of sheffield before 1879. Made from sheffield silver plate/EPNS. Any suggestions of  value of this item would be very helpful. Thank you for taking your time to read this.

Values for silverplate tend to be modest, especially if the plating is not the best, but inscribed loving cups and presentation pieces have attraction that goes beyond that, either historically or simply as an interesting decorative item. we'd sell a piece like this one for about $75.00, personally I'd keep it around for my favorite beer mug ;~)
