Berkey and Gay Bedroom Set

By mickeym, 16 November, 2008
Description

This is a full bedroom set consisting of a dresser, chest, mirror above the dresser, 2 nightstands, stand alone table, small mirror and headboard.  All are Berkey and Gay and have the Berkey and Gay label in the drawers.  They are in good condition and have the original handles (Of note some of the pictures show some greyish marks on the furniture, these are artifacts of the picture and scanning and not on the furniture).  All are in the Art Deco style.  Due to the space limitations on this site,  I am only able to provide pictures of the dresser, chest, night stand and mirror, however the remaining pieces are similar and from the same set.  I am interested in help with appraising the value of this set.  Thank you.

Re: Berkey and Gay Bedroom Set

Hello :-) I purchased the same Berkey and Gay style dresser (photo 1) and chest (photo 4) this past weekend at a flea market in Jackson, MS (told they came from an estate in New Jersey). Both pieces are just beautiful and I was thrilled to have found them. There was also one nightstand available, but I did not purchase it. I may do so to keep all of the remaining pieces together, although I now know there is more to the complete set.  Have you had any luck learning more about these pieces? I am curious to know myself. I adore the Art Deco style, but it is not common to find it here in the south.

Thanks!
