Re: Berkley and gay dining room table
The Berkey & Gay Furniture Company was incorporated in August, 1873, and was well known for its quality suites. Tables like this one date from the mid 1920's through early 30's and tend mix of early American styles such as Queen Anne and William & Mary, generally referred to as "Colonial Revival". Values for these suites depend a great deal on condition, as refinishing cost can exceed the value of a set in good original condition. From what I can see in the images the bases on these pieces are original. Demand for sets in this style last peaked during the late 1980's, demand since then has been in decline, with comparable tables like this now going at auction for under $600.00
