History
Found in an Antique Store who bought it from an Estate in Houston, Texas. Bessie Hyde Kennedy was born in Warren, RI on June 5, 1864, moved to California in 1881. She soon married Wm A Kennedy and settled in Palo Alto, CA into a home at 334 Lincoln. She died there on July 25, 1944. (Source: “Artists in California, 1786-1940” Death Record. She was a California Impressionist, and this work HAS her signature on it. (Please see picture). Her works include Still Life’s, Landscapes (which is what this is), and Urban scenes. The last piece by Ms. Kennedy that sold went for $1,650, and was a painting titled “Harbor Scene”, and was 22” x 28”
