Beveled Mirror with Gazelle

By FjordAmy, 6 February, 2021
Description

I’ve had this mirror since 1984. It was found in an old shed, behind a pile of wood, on property my family bought in AZ. The backing is wood, and is attached with rivets, so I have never tried to remove it to look for signatures or such. There is some wear in the reflective material at the rivet points, and at the edges. I have NEVER seen another piece like this in the nearly 40 years I’ve had it, and can’t seem to find any info on it. Any help is appreciated!

Re: Beveled Mirror with Gazelle

If you do a google image search with “vintage art deco beveled mirror gazelle” you will see a pic of one that was on eBay. Unfortunately it’s no longer on eBay so you can’t click through to see it there. Same search shows a different but similar mirror on Pinterest. I believe it gave a period from 1925 - 1940 on that one but again not a lot of info.
Here’s a similar motif https://www.pamono.com/vintage-art-deco-french-mirror-1930s-1 that might help you date yours.
