Description

I believe this armoire is authentic German Biedermeier.  I am considering purchase and would like to know what a fair price might be.  The item is currently located in southwest Germany.  The dealer tells me that it was in very poor condition when found and has been lovingly and carefully restored by a local craftsman.  The armoire is extremely sturdy with no obvious cracks, stains, or large dents.  The interior is open, no shelves or hanging bars, and there is a large drawer on the bottom that runs the full width of the piece.  It is partially modular - the piece is meant to be able to be broken down into smaller units for transport - and breaks down into, I believe, 5 sections (cornice, sides, doors, back, and base).  I would like to bring something special home from our time in Germany and hope this would be a reasonable investment.  I realize it is not in mint condition, and that the restoration may have been incorrectly done, but it doesn't need to be perfect.  I would simply like to know how much I should pay and how to verify its authenticity. Thank you in advance for any help!

It was previously in poor condition and was restored by a local wood craftsman.
