Leon Dolice etching

If what you have is a genuine original etching by Leon Dolice, you got a bargain in purchasing it for only $25, since the value of his work is considerably higher. His etchings have been going for from around $90 to over $200 on ebay (enter "Leon Dolice" in quotes on ebay's search to see some results) and much higher at galleries. See the web sites of art dealers Keith Sheridan (NY) and Childs Gallery (Boston) for more details.

His color pastels are being offered by Spanierman Gallery (NY) and elsewhere for up to $8000. If you subscribe to askart.com, artprice.com or artfact.com (small subscription fees required) you can access all of his auction records over the years.

I'm not personally familiar with the etching you describe, so if you'ld like my opinion on it, send a jpg of it and info on the size of the image on the paper to me and I'll give you what will be an unofficial opinion on it (I would have to see the etching first-hand for it to be official). You can email this to me at joe(at)dolice(dot)com.
Joe L. Dolice, son of the artist Leon Dolice (1892-1960).
