You appear to have a reproduction brass bell hung on a hanger that is normally associated with ships or Fire Departments. Do you have any background on it? Where you got it, that kind of thing. Another spot to try is putting it on the www.americanbell.org site. It specializes in bells and has a number of members who might recognize this specific one. (use the small bells forum). I suggest that this is a commemorative one for the founding of a fire department or a train engine or something like that. If you get a closer answer, please remember to post it here for others!
