Brass tray table

By MikeInCumbria, 17 November, 2014
Description

My family has had a brass tray table for longer than anyone in the family can remember, and my parents generation are in their 80s or thereabouts.

Some family history research has revealed that my great, great grandfather was a mariner, probably sailing East Indiamen to the Far East in the few years around 1850.

I just wonder if the table might possibly date right back to then, from somewhere along the route of an East Indiaman - Africa, India, China etc - and might possibly have been a memento brought back.

If anyone can assist, that would be great!
