Description

This is a breakdown wardrobe purchased at an antique store in Kansas City about 10 years ago when it was closing shop.  It is made out of wood but don't know what type for sure.  It has a large mirror on each of the two doors.  There's a middle divider between the two doors that has a diamond patterned carving.  A rope-type carving goes around the outside edges and around the divider.  There are also carvings above each of the two large oval mirrors.  The handles twist to unlach the doors.  It stands on 6 legs.

Based on the images your wardrobe dates from the first quarter of the 20th Century and is most likely an English import. Huge numbers of these were imported by the container load right up to just a couple of years ago. Many were converted into entertainment units for the old CRT big screen TV's, with the arrival of cheap LCD and LED flat screen TV's these cabinets have begun to lose value as modern decorator pieces. Still examples like this one still sell for close to what you paid for it. in the $500-$700 range.
