One cold painted bronze sculptured of a woman dressed in a long golden gown that falls in folds at her feet. On her outstretched arms is draped wonderful cloak of brocade, richly detailed in a medallion pattern, her head is tilted to one side. She rests on a sitepped oval base. Signed Erte (Romain de Tirtoff).
No damage, acquired in 1990 in New York City Gallery.

Regarding the values for these Erté bronzes, your “La Mysterieuse” often lists with high-end galleries for prices as high as $18,000, but is just as often is offered for sale in art brokers’ classified ads in the $4,500 to $6,000 range.In the past couple of years this same piece has sold in the $1,500 to $3,000 range, a bargain compared to a private or gallery purchase.
