The chain and clock itself are tarnished, but it is a very pretty. It looks like maybe it is just gold plated because of the tarnish? face is a white checkerboard pattern then there is a circle of gold around it with a pattern that looks like it's spirographed. The case is a cream and gold colored case with a dancing lady on the outside
