Re: Bust of Christ

Oberammergau is in the German state of Bavaria.

Heimat Kunst: means Homeland Art or Regional arts and crafts. The artists name seems off. Is it "Hans Spiegel" ? German would have and "i" in it normally. Hope this helps you research. Husband is German so I know a little.

Good luck.

Re: Bust of Christ

thanks for that info-interesting. It is spelled Spengel though. I did find an german

artist named Ferdinand Johann Spengel. Not sure of that middle name spelling off the bat without looking again ...1924 fit into years he was doing art and he may have used Hans as nickname I guess...will continue to look. Thanks again though !
