Description

My husband found this bell in a creek. It is stamped "C & G Mears Founder London 1858" on the outside. I did find out that C & G Mears is currently called Whitechapel Foundry. I did verify from Whitechapel's website that during 1844-1861, the name C & G Mears was used. I also know what this bell was made at the same place and time (1858) as the Big Ben bell. And the Whitechapel foundry is also who made the Liberty Bell. This bell does not have a clapper.
