After lots of researching, I believe this is a cabinet card photograph of Francesco Lentini (Francisco, Frank) the Three-legged wonder. Underneath the picture it says:
The Edena Studio- Chas.E.Ridenour- Edena Carbona Finish- Ridenour Process- 915 Arch Street Phila. Pa.
There is nothing stamped or written on the back of the card.
I haven't been able to find anything out about this photo and haven't seen another one like it on the internet. In fact, I couldn't find a lot of photos of this man even though, from what his biographies claimed, he was one of the most well-known sideshow characters.
I would love to know more about this photo if anyone has any information or knowledge, and possibly a value. I am sure it is original. There were other circus related photographs in the box as well, a few were Charles Eisenmann.
I look forward to hearing some responses. :)
Re: Cabinet Card Photo of Francisco Lentini the Three-legged...
You are correct that this photo is Frank Lentini. I estimate the photo is from early 1907- 1905 when he was in his late teens or early twenties. I have not seen this particular card before, and I have seen many of Frank's cards. I cannot speak to the card's value, however, there are similar cards on eBay where the asking price ranges from $90-$400 (but those cards haven't actually sold).
