Anyone here know what style this rug is?
The only information I have about it, is that it's likely wool,
and was made in 1996. The tag is so badly faded I can barely
make any of it out. If any of you can read what the tag says,
that'd be very helpful to me.
I'd like to know what I purchased :-) I'm still new in the wonderful world of rugs, so trying
to learn as I go along!
Any info about this rug or style, greatly appreciated!!!
Size: 6'2" x 4'2"
I only bought this rug because I liked it a lot, don't intend to sell it, but would be neat to know
what kinda value it might possess.
Thanks!
UPDATE: I managed to track down the company whose name was on a tag on the back of the rug, Turco Persian Rug Co. They seemed pleasantly surprised to see the rug was still in such fine condition after so long -- the tag was one of their old cleaning tags. One of the rug's old owners had brought it in for a cleaning back in the 90s ;-) They were able to tell me from what records they had from cleaning it, that it is a Pakistani "fine wool" Bokhara rug. I'd STILL LOVE to know it's value in a ballpark figure. It is probably more than 30-40 years old, to have changed hands at least 3 times before me over the years, plus being cleaned by them in 1996. Interesting how some parts of a story can fall together when you think there just can't be ANY way to trace some semblence of provenance ;)
- There is a record at Turco Persian Rug Co (est.1906) of a previous owner bringing it to them
to be professionally cleaned in 1996.
- Speculation that it could be 35yrs or older doesn't seem unreasonable. At least not from my
extremely limited knowledge of rugs.

Beautiful, I will start looking about it for you. Texas
Re: Can anyone tell me anything about this persian rug?
Thanks!!!! I Appreciate it! My research continues on this piece ;) I've had a few pieces of feedback from some collectors, researchers, appraisers - but darn it, everyone has a different reason why and how much this appraises. Maybe you can make a suggestion and I'll accept the concensus of replies hehe Thanks again :) -steve
